- Tour Itinerary
We pick you up early from your hotel and transfer you by bus to Tinki, a small rural community which is the starting point of the trek. In Tinki we will meet the horseman and horses that will transport our staff during the expedition. On the route we will pass picturesque small villages such as Urcos, continue to Calca and then to Ocongate. In these villages we will see people dressed in the traditional clothing of the country. Then we continue through the communities until we reach Tinki. The bus ride will take approx. 2 hours.
We will then walk through the spectacular green pastures of Andean villages maintaining their traditions and customs. The impressive mountain scenery will make for an extraordinary hike. You will see many llamas and alpacas that people use to transport their crops and belongings, we will continue to the camp in Upis.
We leave Upis early and start walking through the spiky ichu grass of the plains and then the trail climbs up towards the Arapa Pass (4,900m). We then continue the hike between Ausangate and Quelluacocha observing attractive lagoons and spectacular mountain landscapes with great fauna.
After this, the trail descends to Hatun Pucaccocha Lake. We then walk to the second pass called Pucapunta Pass (5,000m.). Later we have a short descent to the campsite next to Ausangate Lagoon.
A fascinating day of hiking. We pass the highest point of our hike (Palomani Pass 5,200m.). At this point, you will be rewarded with splendid views.
We then descend to the old agricultural area of Finaya, where people live herding their llamas and alpacas. We will see native crops and meet friendly families. Later we will take a short hike until we reach our campsite in the community of Hampa.
This day we wake up very early at 6 am, we will have breakfast accompanied by the first rays of the sun rising over the Apurimac canyon. After breakfast we will begin our hike to Cachora which will be between 5 and 7 hours, everything will depend on your physical condition, we will have lunch halfway along the way in Capulichayoq. Upon our
arrival in Cachora we will take our private transportation that will take us back to Cusco. The tour ends with the transfer to your respective hotels.

We leave our camp early and continue towards Tinki. Later we continue downhill through a pasture with beautiful agriculture where we will see native crops such as potatoes, oxalis, beans, quinoa, etc. The trail descends passing pastures and several communities of friendly people who will welcome you in their native Quechua language. In Tinki the bus will be waiting for us to take us back to Cusco and transfer you to your hotel.
